Become a Believer
How to Become a Christian
Realize that you are sinful and realize that Christ died for your sins on the cross. (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23)
The Bible tells us that every person has a fundamental flaw in their nature that accounts for why making wrong choices comes so easily...and so often. It calls this flaw "sin". (Sin means "to miss the mark" of God's requirements.) (Romans 6:23)
Sin in our lives causes a separation to exist between us and God, and unless something happens to change that, we face the prospect of dying without God. (Romans 5:8)
Knowing the absolute worst about us, God sent Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins in order that we might be free to receive His gift of forgiveness and eternal life.
Repent of your sin and turn from your sin to Christ. (Acts 3:19, Acts 3:16)
Receive Christ as your personal Savior. (John 1:12, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10)
If you desire to do these things, then you can receive Jesus Christ into your life by faith right now. The following prayer might help you express your thoughts to the Lord:
"Lord Jesus, I admit my sinfulness and thank You for dying for me on the cross. I ask You to forgive me of my sins. I now place my faith in You as my Lord and Savior. Come into my life and change me to be what You desire."
If you have placed your faith in Christ and received Him as your Savior then you are now a child of God. Colossians 1:13 indicates that you have now been delivered from the power of darkness and have been translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son.
You will want to know more about God. He has given us help to do that through the Bible and through the church. We invite you to join our church family as, together, we grow more like Christ.
