More About Pastor Scott

Scott Brown has served as the Senior Pastor at Hanover Commuinty Church for over 25 years.  Having grown up in the Abbottstown area, he has served as a Christian School teacher and youth director in York, PA and sold new Acuras, Toyotas, and Mazdas in Chattanooga, TN before moving back to his home area in June of 1993.  After this move, God directed him to Hanover Community Church to visit and ultimately lead the congregation.

Pastor Scott has a Bachelor of Science in Church Education from Tennessee Temple University.  He later took an additional 37 credit hours from Tennessee Temple University in the area of Secondary Education with a minor in English. 

Pastor Scott and his wife, Pamela, have two children: Stephen Brown and Ashley de Salis.  They both live in the Hanover area and serve faithfully at Hanover Community Church.  Pastor Scott loves to hunt, fish, and read, and he faithfully follows the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, and Penn State teams.

More About Pastor Matt

Matt Miller has been at Hanover Community Church for over 15 years, and has served in the roles of Youth Pastor and Assistant Pastor. His primary responsibility is Youth Ministry and he also oversees the Children’s Ministry Leader. As Assistant Pastor, he helps with sermons, counseling, and leadership support.

Before coming to HCC, Matt served in youth ministry at another local church for many years. His vocational background also includes business and property management. To say that Matt is an avid outdoorsman and hunter is an understatement! He loves time in the out of doors with his Creator and also enjoys trips with his wife, Kim, to special places they both love.

Matt and Kim have lived in the area their entire lives and have 3 children and a son-in-law. Kim has always been a vital part of Matt’s ministry team.

Matt graduated from New Oxford High School and then joined the family business. He did not go to college until truly sensing God's call on his life to enter ministry when he was in his 30’s. He graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 2013 with Bachelor of Science in Christian Life and Ministry with a focus in Youth Ministry.

Ella Mummert

More About Ella

Ella Mummert is the Administrative Assistant at Hanover Community Church. Her responsibilities include handling phone calls, emails, ordering church and office supplies, preparing the church bulletins, and overseeing many behind the scenes tasks.

Ella has served in a variety of different ministry settings. She has experience serving and working with children, youth, and the disabled community.

She served at Arrowhead Bible Camp, a camp for adults with developmental disabilities in northern Pennsylvania, the summers of 2017, 2018,  and 2019. During her time there, she met her now husband, Nick, who introduced her to Hanover Community Church.

Ella believes a good church community is a great blessing from God, and she is thankful to be in a position to serve God and her church family here at HCC.

In her free time, Ella is a crafter fanatic and enjoys crochet, hand embroidering, needle tatting, sewing, and writing. She can always devour a good book.

Dawn Kummer

More About Dawn

Dawn Kummer began attending Hanover Community Church in March 2018, when she and her husband, Mike, moved here from Wisconsin. They became members of the church in November 2018. Dawn started as a volunteer assisting the bookkeeper in the fall of 2018 and took over as the volunteer bookkeeper in January 2019. She came on staff as a part-time bookkeeper in January 2020.

Dawn has worked in the banking industry for 18 years as a teller, in bookkeeping, running operations in bookkeeping, and as an Accounts Payable Manager. She was a part of her previous church’s Corporate Lead Team (church board) for 8 years. The Kummers have been deeply involved in Financial Peace University and currently lead the class at HCC.

Dawn and Mike have four children, three grandsons and one granddaughter. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring/traveling, working on home projects and flipping furniture.

More About Cindi

Cindi Wilmot is the Connections Ministry Leader at Hanover Community Church. Her areas of responsibility include Sunday Operations, Hospitality/Kitchen, Volunteers, Congregational Connections and overseeing the Church Calendar.

Cindi has a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Counseling & Psychology from Ashland Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Taylor University in Christian Education and Music. Her vocational background has been in camp ministry, college ministry, private practice counseling and direct sales. Since joining the staff at HCC in 2018, Cindi has most enjoyed getting to know the church family and helping us become more connected.

Cindi & her husband, Dan, have 6 adult children and several grandchildren they enjoy visiting. They love snow and cheering on the Buffalo Bills with their dog, Buffy.

More About Danielle

Danielle Porter is the Kid's Ministry Director and cares for children from infancy through 6th grade and their families. HCC's Kids Ministry goal is to assist and equip parents to disciple their children to know God, follow Christ, and love others.

Danielle Porter is a Liberty University Alumna who grew up in York, PA and “transplanted” to Virginia after college. She became connected to Hanover Community Church through her husband and joined the staff in June of 2018. She brings a unique perspective to the children's area through her degree in Family and Child Development, as well as her work experience in Foster Care, Adoptions, and Family Case Work through Children and Youth agencies in Virginia and Pennsylvania and as a Therapeutic Support Staff for children and families with children who have special needs.  

Danielle's passions in ministry are to show each child and their family the gospel and love of Christ. 

Danielle and her husband, Ethan, have been married since 2014 and have two wonderful children. She loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys cooking, crocheting, and a good book.

Rachel Haines

More About Rachel

Rachel Haines serves as the Women's Discipleship Ministry Leader for HCC. 

Rachel grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Northampton Area High School in 2003. She attended both Penn State and Kutztown Universities before marrying her husband Jason in 2007. Rachel worked a variety of administrative jobs before becoming a full-time mother. Jason and Rachel welcomed their son in 2010 and their daughter in 2013. Being a mother is the role she is most proud of. 

Rachel has a deep passion for the Word of God and teaching. She loves to see Women growing in their faith, and being equipped to lead. 

She is currently studying for her Ministry to Women certificate through Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.  Her favorite thing about ministry is witnessing people come to know and love Jesus Christ.

Rachel is an avid runner in her free time, having completed a full marathon, 4 half marathons, and numerous shorter-distance races. Rachel is also a dog mom to her 2 labs- Hershey and Cooper. Rachel is a Philadelphia sports fan (sorry, not sorry). She loves history.  Her love language is chocolate.

Jonathan de Salis

More About Jonathan

Jonathan de Salis began attending Hanover Community Church in 2014 and started to actively participate on the Worship Team. He also became involved in various Bible Studies and Life Groups. Now, he and his friend, Ethan Porter, co-lead the Worship Team.

Jonathan de Salis was born and raised in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. He attended West Chester University of Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a concentration in Voice. While attending West Chester University, Jonathan participated in several music ensembles including the Mastersingers, Concert Choir, and the West Chester University Incomparable Golden Ram Marching Band. He also served in campus ministry where he led Bible Studies and assisted in organizing campus-wide worship events.

Jonathan is the General Music Teacher (K-5), Choir Director (6th-12th), and Sound Technician at Christian School of York. He enjoys teaching a variety of school-aged students and guiding them as they explore and grow musically and spiritually.

In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, reading, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2016, Jonathan and his wife, Ashley, were married and now live in East Berlin. They enjoy taking walks and exploring new restaurants. They are the proud parents to twins!

Ethan Porter

More About Ethan

Ethan Porter began attending Hanover Community Church in 2011, while he was still attending college.  He and his wife, Danielle, became members in 2014.  Ethan has been leading worship at HCC on and off since 2014.  Ethan and Jonathan now co-lead the worship team as part-time staff.  

Ethan was born in Tennessee and then moved to Hanover when he was young.  Ethan graduated from York College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  He has been an engineer for Schindler Elevators for the past 8 years. 

Ethan has a heart for worshipping the Lord through music and enjoys being able to share that with the congregation.  He loves to spend time with his wife and children, his family, and friends, and play some video games from time to time!
